Do you know who I am? I am a Sahrawi. The land to which I refer is what is known today as the non-self-governing territory ofWestern Sahara. My country was colonized by the Spanish and the French between 1884 and 1975, divided in two and occupied by Moroccan and Mauritanian forces thereafter, and has been ruled exclusively by the Kingdom of Morocco from 1979 until the present.

Oblivion it seems is the current reality for the arid North African territory of Western Sahara; often referred to as Africa’s ‘Last Colony’. In my opinion, it would be more accurate to describe it as ‘Africa’s Forgotten Colony’.

الحكومة الصحراوية تستنكر بشدة إختطاف دبلوماسيين جزائريين في مالي

استنكرت حكومة الجمهورية الصحراوية ، بشدة اختطاف دبلوماسيين جزائريين في مالي، معلنة تضامنها مع عائلات الرهائن وموجهة نداء للحكومة المالية من أجل إطلاق سراحهم في أسرع وقت، حسب ما جاء في بيان صادر عن وزارة الشؤون الخارجية الصحراوية .
" إن حكومة الجمهورية العربية الصحراوية الديمقراطية تستنكر بشدة اختطاف سبعة دبلوماسيين جزائريين من طرف مجموعة إرهابية في مدينة غاو المالية، وتندد بهذا العمل الإرهابي الجبان"، يقول البيان.
وأعربت الحكومة الصحراوية عن "تعاطفها مع عائلات المختطفين"، متمنية "عودتهم سالمين إلى وطنهم وذويهم" وداعية الحكومة المالية إلى "بذل كل الجهود لإطلاق سراح الدبلوماسيين الجزائريين".
ولم تصدر الحكومة الصحراوية اي موقف من تطورات الاوضاع بشمال مالي خاصة بعد اعلان حركة تحرير الازواد عن استقلال شمال مالي عن جنوبه.
وكانت قنصلية الجزائر في غاو تعرضت لاعتداء يوم الخميس من قبل جماعة إرهابية اقتادت القنصل الجزائري وستة من معاونيه إلى جهة مجهولة.
وأعلنت وزارة الشؤون الخارجية الجزائرية في بيان لها أنه تم إعادة عائلات الدبلوماسيين الجزائريين يوم الجمعة إلى الجزائر، كما تم خلال نفس الرحلة إجلاء رعية فرنسية تعمل بوكالة اليونيسيف كانت قد لجأت إلى القنصلية الجزائرية في غاو.
