Do you know who I am? I am a Sahrawi. The land to which I refer is what is known today as the non-self-governing territory ofWestern Sahara. My country was colonized by the Spanish and the French between 1884 and 1975, divided in two and occupied by Moroccan and Mauritanian forces thereafter, and has been ruled exclusively by the Kingdom of Morocco from 1979 until the present.

McDonald’s Moroccan Subsidiary has issued a statement on last December 1st in Morocco, apologizing for having distributed a toy in their “Happy Meal” menu which included a map of Morocco without Western Sahara.

Indeed, McDonald’s Morocco has apologized to Moroccans and has decided to withdraw the toys, replacing them by other ones that will surely include a map with Western Sahara into Moroccan borders, in a clear violation of International Law, this time on behalf of a multinational company as McDonald’s is.

For this reason, a group of Internet sites of solidarity with the Saharaui People has decided to launch a common campaign to join efforts to, once again, make international legality and rights of the Sahrawi people to be respected, making clear to Moroccan invader that their actions will be neither unpunished nor forgotten.

With the aim to definitely withdraw Morocco from Western Sahara, returning them back what Morocco never had and will never own, we ask you to join this campaign and spread it as far as possible.
